Description

The children and women of Tonaltepec developed a wide variety of products in the workshops taught by Innovando la Tradición. These peculiar pieces tell a story about their daily environment and are a living example of the presence of nature in the daily lives of clay artisans. They are one of the few pottery pieces in the world that use vegetable pigments to decorate. The dark brown color of the stains is achieved when, upon removing them from the oven, at a temperature close to 900°C, the artisan applies an ink made from cactus and oak bark.

The pigment may vary due to its completely handmade technique

Salt and pepper shakers / 9x12 cm

Sold in sets of 2.
